Castle Ashby is an English country house in rural Northamptonshire, England. Historically the village was set up to service the needs of Castle Ashby Manor. Castle Ashby is surrounded by 200 acres and is the ancestral home of the 7th Marquess of Northampton; set in the heart of a 10,000 acre estate, the extensive gardens at Castle Ashby are a combination of several styles, with a mile long avenue dating back to 1695: Victorian terrace gardens, the more private and romantic Italian gardens, an elegant conservatory, triumphal arch and arboretum. It’s easy to get lost in the large rooms, almost hearing the footsteps of those that lived there long ago….
The idea of taking to the roads, sky or sea is often only in ones DREAMS…. I have loved those that have dared to take the show on the road…
Friends Carmody and Tasha decided to take their nuptials to a different era in time…. Castle Ashby served as the backdrop to one of the most exciting weddings that I’ve done…The idea was a take on The Elizabethan Era (Queen Elizabeth’s reign 1558-1603)
Quite often for those that travel to a special place, to create a ‘Wedding to Remember,’ there is a huge amount of planning that goes into making sure everything looks perfect and runs as smoothly as clockwork….
I recommend hiring someone that is accustomed to making DREAMS come true….
I’ve gone on the road with wonderful Event and Wedding Planners like FÊTE (www.feteny.com)… Some of you will opt to find someone local… The problem often when choosing a local planner is that you may not get your exact vision, BUT the BENEFIT is saving money and depending on where you take your wedding you may find someone who comes to your rescue in a foreign land…..
Couples who have destination weddings typically spend less than those having traditional celebrations. Guests are expected to pay for their own travel and accommodations, the bride and groom only need to worry about the cost of the ceremony and reception and their travel costs. Destination weddings can be as lavish or simple as you desire. Whether you want to celebrate your marriage with a luxurious reception in a ballroom of a castle or on the beach, there are many options to fit any budget.
For those with little budget I love the idea of taking it to the beach… Cayman Islands or Tulum, Quintana Roo, Mexico amongst the ruins of the Mayan… Walking barefoot on the beach to say “I do”, I find is as romantic as being in Paris in the Spring…. Whatever you decide make sure it fit’s you and your budget….
So put your DREAMS and your PASSPORT to use….
